Hi, I'm Asuni
I work close to the metal — operating systems, binaries, and the Linux infrastructure underneath. I learn by building things and taking them apart.
About me
I like knowing how things work underneath.
I'm a computer science student at Sungkyunkwan University, originally from Malaysia. Most of what I know I picked up by building it myself — writing a CPU scheduler inside a real kernel, running a home lab I deliberately break and repair, and pulling apart binaries to see what they do.
I'm heading toward security research and malware analysis, and everything here is a step in that direction.
Projects
Things I've built
xv6 EEVDF scheduler
Replaced the round-robin scheduler in the xv6 kernel with EEVDF — the fair-share algorithm Linux moved to — tracking virtual runtime and per-process weights, then measuring latency and fairness against the stock kernel.
NEXUSLAB — Proxmox home lab
A multi-node home lab built to behave like real infrastructure: VLAN-segmented networks behind a pfSense gateway, disposable VMs and containers, and failures introduced on purpose so I can practise diagnosing them.
Reverse engineering write-ups
Crackmes and CTF binaries taken apart statically in Ghidra and traced live under GDB, with a write-up for each one explaining how the program actually works — not just the flag.
Self-hosted Rocky Linux server
My own server running behind nginx, with TLS, systemd services under non-root users, and firewall rules — where I host my projects instead of renting a platform. This site lives here too.
Skills
What I work with
Systems & OS
C, kernel internals, processes and scheduling, low-level debugging.
Reverse engineering
Ghidra, GDB, pwntools, static and dynamic binary analysis.
Infrastructure
Rocky Linux, Proxmox, nginx, Docker, systemd.
Networking
TCP/IP, VLANs, pfSense and OPNsense, CCNA study.
Let's talk
I'm looking for internships and opportunities in systems and security — and always happy to talk shop.
